Welcome to Year 2

In Year 2 we provide an interesting and fascinating journey for the children at Christchurch Infant School. We have an engaging curriculum that builds on their prior knowledge to support the children’s learning. Our year starts with an ‘Explorers project and ‘Superheroes’, where the children have an exciting superhero dressing up day and will learn about significant people in History including Florence Nightingale.  Further projects include ‘London, Then and Now’ where the children learn about The Great Fire of London and then ‘A Touch of Spice’. Highlights include an India Day with an imaginary flight to India, lessons in Bollywood dancing and food tasting. Our journey concludes with our animals’ topic ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ with an exciting trip to Marwell Zoo to support our learning more about animals and their habitats. The curriculum is carefully planned and prepares them for their transition to Christchurch Junior School.
