Behaviour Curriculum
At Christchurch Infant School, we believe that positive behaviour can be taught just like any other skill. Our behaviour curriculum is built around clear routines, consistent expectations, and warm relationships.
Our approach to behaviour and motivation, is to develop intrinsic motivation; doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching. We build nurturing relationships with children whilst teaching them our behaviour expectations, whether it's sharing with others, 'Fantastic Walking', 'Legendary Listening', or 'Marvellous Manners'. This ensures they feel safe, confident, and ready to learn. Research shows that when routines and positive behaviours are explicitly taught and practised, children thrive both socially and academically. We celebrate kindness, effort, and respect, helping every child to grow into a thoughtful and responsible member of our school community.

Morning break and lunchtime play
Our children are offered the opportunity to apply to become a play leader. Following their successful appointment and once they have completed their training, play leaders ensure that playtime is full of fun, whilst helping children to follow the school rules. They are excellent role models and help to make sure everyone is happy and safe!
