Mucky Farm Zoo visits CIS
Yesterday our Early Years children had a wonderful time meeting different farm animals when Mucky Bucket Farm visited.
An adorable alpaca called Benny, a pony, a donkey, sheep, two noisy ducks, goats, two bantams and Nellie the dog took up residence for a morning in the grounds of the school. The children were able to stroke the animals and describe how they felt.
The farm visit was designed to fit in with Early Years ‘Down on the farm’ theme that the children have been exploring over this half term. Part of the classrooms has converted their role play areas into a farm shop and the children have been taking it in turns to play the various roles. They have also been working hard with their phonics activities sorting animals into groups by initial sound.
Early Years teacher, Miss Bennett, who organised the visit said “The farm visit provided a perfect opportunity for exploring the various areas of Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. The farm visit was a lovely treat for the children this half term”.
Many thanks to the PTFA who funded the opportunity for EYFS.
