Children in Starfish class have had a wonderful first week back in school, beginning their new topic for this half term; Mad about Minibeasts!
We had an exciting delivery of caterpillars which we are now looking after and watching grow each day. We are very excited to watch them transform into butterflies!
We then went on a minibeast hunt around the school's Science garden. We had to look very closely to find some using our magnifying glasses.
We are also learning the story of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and have been practising re-telling the story using our story language and actions.
We have created our own zig zag books, showing the fruits that the caterpillar ate and showing off our super writing skills by writing parts of the story too!
We are looking forward to finding out about lots of other minibeasts during this topic!
