We are excited to announce we have selected 24 Year 2 children who will be the Play Leaders this academic year. We had lots of applications and would like to thank everyone who took the time to fill one out and we are sorry that we could not choose everyone. Play Leaders are very important people with a very responsible job in our school. They are in charge of our playground challenges as well as making sure children on the friendship bench have someone to play with. They were lucky enough to have a special training session with Dan Moody (School Games Organiser & Partnership Manager) focusing on leadership skills and health and well being. They are all very enthusiastic and ready to help all children attending Christchurch Infant School to reach their target of 60 minutes of physical activity every day!
We were very excited to welcome European Gold Medalist Kirsty Way to the school this week. She started the day with an assembly for the Foundation children telling them all about competing in the Double Tramp Gymnastic. She then ran active workshops with the Year 1 and 2 classes which were sponsored to raise money for the school. The Foundation children completed circuits on the playground. The children had a wonderful day.
"I liked hearing about the competitions."
"I would love to win medals like her!"
