The families of Christchurch Infant School were asked to think of others less fortunate than themselves this Christmas. They donated gifts of toys for children and sent them to the charity 'Amelia's Rainbow' . This charity supports families with children suffering from terminal, life limiting and serious chronic illnesses in Dorset and the surrounding area. Families donated a range of gifts from puzzles and books to cuddly toys and games. Yesterday the charities organisers came to the school, and with the help of some of our pupils, they took away over a hundred bags of gifts to distribute to families in time for Christmas. Each donation was also recorded on a 'Giving Tree' made up of over 100 cut out hands, each bearing the name of a pupil or member of staff.
'This was a great opportunity for all our families to give to others and we thank them for their generosity.' (Mrs Ashenden, Headteacher)
